Program details
The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is a 90-credit online degree program. The BGS program has a minimal 6-credit residency requirement, which means that, aside from the 2 courses taken at Athabasca University, you can transfer credits from other institutions, making your educational journey even more tailored and efficient.
The Bachelor of General Studies has 2 designations available: Arts and Science and Applied Studies. You must take at least 45 credits in your chosen designation.
All courses are individualized study, allowing you to complete the coursework at your own pace. You can finish this program in 3 years or less of full-time study. Your completion time will depend on the amount of transfer credit awarded, and how quickly you complete each course. There is no time limit for completing the degree.
